“I never thought ‘Sodapop Curtis’ would announce my retirement.”
That was Peyton Manning’s reaction to the Rob Lowe’s tweet regarding his potential retirement. How fucking awesome is that? The reference was fantastic, and it essentially says “Anyone who believed that I’m actually retiring is an idiot.” Peyton Manning is not going anywhere folks. I think he is itching to get on the field and prove he’s still an elite quarterback.
For those wanting him to come to Miami, the next bit of information is even more exciting. When asked bout his future with the Indianapolis Colts, he was candid about his dissatisfaction with the current state of the team.
When asked about his use of the Colts practice facility, he said:
“I’m not in a very good place for healing, let’s say that. It’s not a real good environment down there right now, to say the least. Everybody’s walking around on eggshells. I don’t recognize our building right now. There’s such complete and total change.”
That certainly doesn’t sound like someone who is ready to continue his career in Indianapolis. To me, it sounds like someone who is counting down the days until his release. It seems only a matter of time before he’s available for the Dolphins to make a run at him.
